Minecraft Circle Generator

A Minecraft circle generator turns a size into a block-by-block plan for a round build. Pick a diameter or radius and get a numbered blueprint. Follow it row by row, mark blocks as you place them, load it in Litematica or paste the WorldEdit command.

Center blocks

Odd or even size? Odd sizes have a single center block, so a 1-block door or path lines up cleanly. Even sizes have a 2×2 center.

Block counts for a 1-block wall. For any other size or wall thickness, the generator's Stats work as a circle calculator. Pick a row to load it in the generator.

How to build a circle in Minecraft

  1. Pick the sizeChoose an odd diameter if you want a single center block for doors, paths or a beacon.
  2. Mark the centerPlace a temporary block where the blue center lines cross, then count out to the four widest rows.
  3. Build the long rows firstLay the top, bottom, left and right rows from the build list. They anchor the rest of the shape.
  4. Fill in the diagonalsWork around one quarter at a time and mirror it. Tap blocks on the blueprint as you place them so you don't lose your place.

Going bigger? Stack circles into a sphere or a dome, or stretch one into an oval.

Odd or even: 1-block or 2×2 center?

Every Minecraft circle has either a single center block or a 2×2 center, and you can't change one into the other without changing the size.

  • Odd sizes (9, 15, 21…) have one center block. Use them for 1-wide doors and paths, a beacon or a single pillar in the middle, and anything you build with WorldEdit, since its radius always gives an odd width.
  • Even sizes (10, 16, 22…) have a 2×2 center. Use them for double doors, 2-wide paths, and a 2×2 spiral staircase or fountain in the middle.

If you're not sure, pick odd. The generator shows the center as 1×1 or 2×2 under Stats.

Common circle-building mistakes

  1. Starting from a cornerBuild out from the center instead. Mark the middle block (or 2×2 middle) first, then place the four longest rows. Errors near a corner only show up when the circle refuses to close.
  2. Counting the wall into the roomThe diameter is the outside edge. A 15-block tower with a 1-block wall leaves 13 blocks inside, and a 2-block wall leaves 11. Size up if you need stairs and storage.
  3. Mixing up radius and diameterRadius is half the width. A "radius 20" circle is 40 or 41 blocks across. WorldEdit counts radius from the center block, so its radius 7 gives a 15-block circle.
  4. Going too smallBelow 7 blocks a circle reads as a rounded square. Go 9 or more if you want it to look round from a distance.
  5. Raising walls before checking the baseWalk the first layer and compare each row with the build list. One block off on the base turns into a crooked tower once it is ten blocks tall.

FAQ

How do you make a perfect circle in Minecraft?

Blocks are square, so no circle is perfectly round. The generator picks every block whose center falls inside the true circle, which gives the smoothest result for any size. Bigger circles look rounder.

What size circle is best for a tower?

Diameters of 9 to 15 work for most survival towers. They leave room for a spiral staircase and still look round from the outside.

Should I use an odd or even diameter?

Odd diameters have one center block, so doors, paths and beacons line up in the middle. Even diameters have a 2×2 center, which suits double doors and 2-wide paths.

How many blocks are in a 15-block circle?

A 15-block circle outline uses 40 blocks with a 1-block wall. The table above lists the outline and filled counts for other common sizes.

Can I make the wall thicker?

Yes. Set the wall thickness to 2–5 blocks under Style. The blueprint keeps the outer edge the same and adds blocks on the inside.

What is the radius of my circle?

Half the diameter: a 15-block circle has a radius of 7.5. Type a radius into the Radius box and the generator rounds it to the nearest whole width. WorldEdit counts radius from the center block, so //cyl with radius 7 gives the same 15-block circle.

How do I use the .litematic file?

Install the Litematica mod (Java Edition), put the file in your .minecraft/schematics folder, then press M in game and load it. It places a see-through guide of every block where you stand. Pick the block type before downloading.

Is this circle maker free?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no account and no download, on desktop or phone. The PNG blueprint, the .litematic file and the WorldEdit command are all free.

Does this work on Bedrock?

Yes. The blueprint is the same on Java and Bedrock. The WorldEdit command needs the WorldEdit mod or plugin on Java.
